Vision.

MAG is primarily a brand product that vendors can stock easily, so customers can always get a set when they need it.

Preorders and group buys happen as well. The kitting rules below are built around this “always available” idea.

Base Kits.

  • Vendors can stock a Base Kit easily, without separate compatibility child kits such as Numpad Kits.
  • That stops vendors from ordering too little or too much of those child kits.
  • Customers still get every key for the most common keyboard layouts in one Base Kit.

Please keep these layouts and key arrangements as far as possible. A consistent kit structure across all MAG sets is part of the brand.

Accent Keys.

Accent Keys are optional. Include or remove them as your project needs.

Accent Keys in the Base Kit can also be swapped for Novelty Keys.

Novelty Keys.

Use as many novelty keys as your design needs. Up to 10 mold inserts per project are free in the Novelty Kit. Beyond that, the cost of the extra inserts is added to the Novelty Kit price. Only inserts count: the same novelty keycap in different colours needs just one insert (the injection mold), so colour variants are free.

Child Kits.

Child Kits are planned separately. Examples:

  • Novelty Kits for designers who want to offer more Novelty Keys with their set.
  • Colored Modifier Kits (for example RGBY or CMYK, planned with the WoB/BoW sets). They work independently of the current project and match other MAG sets too.

Kits we don’t offer.

For the same reason as the Base Kits, easy and predictable stocking, we do not plan to offer these for now:

  • 40s / Ortho Kits
  • Spacebar Kits
  • Similar compatibility kits

One legend set.

Every MAG set uses the MAG legends: Cherry profile, double-shot. ANSI, ISO/DE, Nordic, Mac, numpad and 40s extras are all in the file.
